Reclaiming joy: Chrissy Teigen, 35, shares details about what she calls a ‘transformative’ period in her life surrounding her birthday on November 30th, as she said she woke up and the ‘intense grief and physical pain was gone,’ after suffering a miscarriage in late September
Showcasing some pink and purple flowers she was gifted on her birthday from her friend Chloe, Teigen shared some snaps of a cork board as talked about savoring the happiness in her life.
Sitting on the floor of her office in a white button down surrounded by a stack of magazines, the mother of two looked at ease as she said, ‘lol I’m this person now, hello.’
Penning a lengthy caption on Instagram – after which she hilariously assured her followers she was ‘not high’ – Teigen wrote:
‘Just want to share! I’m just sitting at my office, listening to music and so, so content and happy…thinking. I received these birthday flowers a week ago and I don’t know if she [Chloe] knows how much the beauty of these, looking at these every day, spiraled into thinking about how transformative a period it was, the days surrounding 35.’
Transformation: With help from some birthday flowers Teigen said that she wanted to repurpose them into robe cuffs as a reminder to ‘remember joy’
Speaking about the morning of her birthday she continued, ‘I woke up. The intense grief and physical pain was gone. My brain was back and my bonessssss, I’m telling you, my bones came back.’
‘I will never forget this period in time and these flowers, I want to make them forever remembered as puuuuuure joy and love i want to just…share. It has to be made into something, something.’
Mentioning her undying love for robes, she said she wanted to repurpose the flowers as a reminder to wear joy on her sleeve.
‘…A cuff where every time I reach for something I can remember joy. To remember this joy and all the…the crazy. I dunno. A vibe. Also I am not high!! I am sober. Just thinking. Lol. Love you guys,’ she concluded.

She continued to joke, ‘I’m not high. I sound super high,’ in the comments section of her post as she harped on her playful side – which has been a challenge to harness recently – to her 33.3M followers.
Teigen announced she and husband John Legend were expecting in August, before tragically losing baby ‘Jack’ halfway through her pregnancy.
Following days of bleeding which caused a stint in the hospital, doctors diagnosed Teigen with partial placental abruption – where the placenta separates from the wall of the uterus causing the baby’s airflow to be blocked or limited – at which point her body could not sustain the child.
After bravely sharing the news on Instagram, she received an outpouring of love from her family, close friends, and even her social media community following the miscarriage.

‘I didn’t know that we could experience this grief and also share it, but when we did, it really meant so much to so many people and it was such a powerful experience for me to learn that, and I’m just grateful that my wife was courageous enough to do it,’ Legend said of his wife in a GMA interview earlier this week.
Quietly disappearing from social media for a bit following the painful loss of her son, Teigen has mentioned that one day she will open up about the full magnitude of the situation as she continues to be forthcoming about her healing process.
She has said that her friends and coworkers can gauge her mental state based on the outfits she wears, also recently sharing that she had opted to take baths instead of showers in recent months because she couldn’t stand amid her grief.
With Legend by her side as well as daughter Luna, four, and son Miles, two, Teigen has slowly but surely given herself time to heal following what was an unspeakable loss and seems to have finally found the light.
