Courtney Stodden would consider sit-down meeting with Chrissy Teigen over abusive tweets

Courtney Stodden would reportedly consider sitting down with Chrissy Teigen for a face-to-face meeting over abusive tweets fired at her by the model a decade ago.

Teigen, 35, has come under fire over the past several days, after tweets in which she told a then 16-year-old Stodden, now 26, to take her own life resurfaced.

However, Stodden is said to be open to meeting up with the star, as she believes an apology will help her move on with her life and career, according to TMZ

It comes after Stodden revealed Teigen still hasn’t apologised to them privately and has called for her to lose her lucrative deals, warning brands it’s ‘not a good look’ to be ‘aligning with someone who encourages a minor to commit suicide’.

Stodden blasted Teigen saying she had ‘made her career out of apologising’ and questioned the sincerity of her public Twitter apology in an exclusive video obtained by DailyMail.com.

Stodden, who has recently said they are non-binary, made the comments Friday in Palm Springs amid the ongoing scandal.

Teigen came under fire this week after Stodden revealed the former model and wife of John Legend sent abusive messages in the past telling them to commit suicide.

In 2011, Teigen published a barrage of tweets telling then-16-year-old Stodden to ‘go to sleep forever’.

Stodden said this was only part of the picture, saying Teigen would also ‘privately DM me and tell me to kill myself.’

Teigen responded Wednesday posting a lengthy apology on Twitter saying she was ‘mortified’ by her past behaviour and had tried to reach out to Stodden to apologise.

In the wake of the scandal, it was revealed that Teigen lost her contract with retail giant Target while she has been slammed by numerous commentators and famous faces including Farrah Abraham and Lindsay Lohan’s mother Dina.

Stodden hit back at Teigen’s claim that she apologised privately, saying ‘she said she did but she didn’t’.

‘She apologised on Twitter but I was blocked from the apology so couldn’t really see it but a few people sent it to me,’ they said.

‘I feel if she was sincerely sorry she would have at least got in touch with me privately. She said she did but she didn’t.’

Stodden demanded Teigen lose all her lucrative deals with brands immediately and called for a boycott of any that stick with the embattled star, saying ‘luckily we have a choice where we spend our money’.

‘Vrbo, Target, Paypal… I think should really reconsider aligning with someone who promotes violence and encourages a minor to commit suicide,’ said Stodden.

‘That is disgusting and it’s not a good look. Luckily we have a choice where we spend our money.’

Stodden urged brands to ‘rethink’ their association with Teigen as they sent a message to other victims of online abuse and bullying.

‘I am living proof that you can get through harassment and bullying. I think anybody dealing with a bully – you are so worthy and no matter how in power that bully is or how popular that bully is, life is always worth living.

‘And it’s really awful to feel like you’re dispensable and your life is dispensable. I really think the brands need to rethink that.’

Stodden laughed that Teigen has ‘kind of made her career out of apologising’ as they admitted the last weak had been ‘not easy’.

‘I’m doing good. You know it’s not easy but I’m getting through it. I’m happy,’ Stodden said.

It emerged this week that Target has already parted ways with Teigen.

Its website is no longer displaying her cookware line Cravings by Chrissy Teigen – which she launched with them exclusively in 2019 – but it is still selling three of her cookbooks.

TMZ reported Thursday that Target had removed her cookware line last month, but a source close to Teigen tells DailyMail.com that the partnership ended in December last year and had nothing to do with the controversy.

Target confirmed the news to DailyMail.com in a statement on Thursday, saying: ‘We made the mutual decision in December to no longer carry the cookware line, given our continued focus on brands we develop and that can only be found at Target.’

Meanwhile, vacation rental firm Vrbo announced only this Tuesday that the Teigen-Legend family had struck a deal to be its first-ever ‘Family in Residence’ with a new ad and a brand new Legend adaptation of a classic song.

PayPal announced last month a new partnership with Cravings by Chrissy Teigen for its flexible payment service on her online store.

Her cookware range is also available at Macy’s. Neither Vrbo, Paypal nor Macy’s have publicly commented on the scandal this week.

Stodden revealed this week that Teigen had sent them abusive direct messages where she told the former teen bride to commit suicide.

‘[Chrissy] wouldn’t just publicly tweet about wanting me to take “a dirt nap” but would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself. Things like, “I can’t wait for you to die,”‘ they said.

A ‘dirt nap’ alludes to a dead person’s burial.

Teigen publicly tweeted about Stodden several times in 2011 as well.

‘My friday fantasy: you. dirt nap. mmmmmm baby,’ one of the tweets read.

Another tweet from Teigen to Stodden stated: ‘go. to sleep. forever.’

In other tweets she told the then 16-year-old ‘I hate you’ and asked ‘what drug makes you do that with your mouth?’

It is not clear what triggered Teigen to compose the public attacks on Stodden, who had gained notoriety for marrying Green Mile actor Doug Hutchinson, who was 51.

Teigen published an apology on Twitter Wednesday saying she was ‘ashamed and completely embarrassed’ by her actions.

‘Not a lot of people are lucky enough to be held accountable for all their past bulls*** in front of the entire world. I’m mortified and sad at who I used to be.’

She added: ‘I was an insecure, attention seeking troll. I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that…is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel.’

Teigen concluded: ‘And I am so sorry I let you guys down. I will forever work on being better than I was 10 years ago, 1 year ago, 6 months ago.’

But Stodden fired back that Teigen ‘never’ reached out to them privately to apologise for the abusive tweets and direct messages that she sent in 2011.

‘I accept her apology and forgive her. But the truth remains the same, I have never heard from her or her camp in private,’ wrote Stodden via Instagram on Wednesday.

Stodden also said they had been ‘blocked’ by Teigen on Twitter so – while she put the apology out to the public – Stodden could not see it.

‘In fact, she blocked me on Twitter,’ Stodden wrote, followed by a screengrab showing that they were unable to view Chrissy’s account due to being allegedly blocked.

‘All of me wants to believe this is a sincere apology, but it feels like a public attempt to save her partnerships with Target and other brands who are realizing her “wokeness” is a broken record,’ Stodden added.

Stodden first made the claims against the model as early as April last year in an Instagram post saying they felt bullied by her.

‘I’m going through a lot right now behind closed doors and I’m coming to a lot of, kind of like, revelations I guess about the choices that I made but also that the adults made around me when I was a minor and got married,’ Stodden said.

‘This video is definitely calling out Chrissy Teigen. She stalked me. She harassed me. She bullied me, and keep in mind, I was a minor.’

‘She would call me a w**re, a sl*t, she would tell me she hated me. Every name in the book she called me,’ Stodden went on to claim.

In March this year, Stodden criticised Teigen and called her out for being a hypocrite for temporarily leaving Twitter over negative comments, when she herself had made such disparaging remarks towards Stodden.

The model and singer claimed ‘bullying’  by Teigen on social media.

Teigen revealed she was quitting Twitter (though would later rejoin) amid a string of negative comments from trolls, which the model said had left her feeling ‘deeply bruised.’

At the time of Teigen’s brief departure from Twitter, Stodden brought up a 2011 tweet from the model which read: ‘Saying Courtney Stodden’s FB page got shut down for being too sexy is like saying the Nazi’s were just meanies. As in, not quite.’

In 2013, it emerged Teigen called a then nine-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis ‘cocky’, as well as Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham a ‘wh**e’ the same year.

‘Is it okay to call a small child cocky?’ Teigen tweeted at the time when Wallis had been nominated for an Oscar in 2013.

‘I am forced to like Quvenzhané Wallis because she’s a child right? Okay fine.’

Teigen appeared to suggest that the young actress had come across as precocious at the ceremony, where she had been nominated for her turn in Beasts of the Southern Wild. But facing backlash at the time, Teigen later deleted the tweet.

That same year, Teigen took aim at a then-21-year-old Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham, tweeting: ‘farrah abraham now thinks she is pregnant from her sex tape. in other news you’re a whore and everyone hates you whoops not other news sorry.’

This week Abraham slammed Teigen as ‘highly disturbing’ and said she should seek ‘mental help’.

Teigen also took aim at Lindsay Lohan in 2011, saying the actress ‘adds a few more slits to her wrists when she sees emma stone [sic]’.

Lohan’s mom Dina hit out at Teigen’s comment this week.

‘As a single mother of four children I have raised them to be kind, humble and non-judgmental. That being said, I will not judge her words towards others but I stand firm in one looking into oneself and continue to learn and grow #ownyou,’ she said in a statement.

Another tweet targeted politician Sarah Palin: ‘listen. i don’t want much from sarah palin. i just want her to admit partial fault, then shoot herself in the face. is that wrong? [sic]’

Teigen has repeatedly come under fire for a string of vile remarks made over the years.

In 2013, she attacked Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham: ‘farrah Abraham now thinks she is pregnant from her sex tape. In other news you’re a whore and everyone hates you.’

She mocked comedian Jay Mohr over the name of his baby son in 2011.

‘NikkI Cox and Jay Mohr named their son Meredith. Their son, Meredith. Meredith is their son’s name. The name of their son is Meredith.’
